Warehouse Operations Manager – 1st Shift Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our 1st shift operations in a fast‑paced third‑party logistics (3PL) environment. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 25 associates supporting cross‑dock and warehouse activities while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, service excellence, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Manage and develop a team of approximately 25 warehouse associates, leads, and support personnel on first shift. Oversee daily warehouse and cross‑dock operations, ensuring timely receipt, processing, staging, and outbound movement of freight. Drive operational performance to achieve productivity, quality, and customer service objectives. Utilize the Synapse Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor workflow, inventory accuracy, and operational metrics. Establish priorities and allocate labor resources to meet customer requirements and service commitments. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations. Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Coordinate closely with transportation, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless execution. Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer concerns, and service failures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork. Qualifications – Required Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership experience in a distribution or 3PL environment. Previous experience managing teams of 20 or more employees. Experience supporting cross‑dock operations and high‑volume freight movement. Working knowledge of warehouse management systems; experience with Synapse WMS preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills. Ability to analyze operational data and drive process improvements. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Qualifications – Preferred Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with KPI reporting and labor planning. Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
