Assembler I

Position Summary Set up and operate assembly equipment including benders, crimpers and forming equipment. Responsibilities Able to set-up and operate all working cell equipment: Wauseon forming Hole punch Benders Crimpers Ink jet printing Must be capable of conducting and evaluating destructive testing along with visual checks so necessary adjustments to the set‑up can be made to produce a quality part. Be able to identify, analyze, and evaluate machine and material problems. Able to make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and machines when necessary, including effectively trouble shooting equipment issues. Actively participate in department team projects and activities. Other duties may be assigned at a later time. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S. Qualifications Prior machine set‑up experience preferred. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Sound decision making skills. Good math, reading, and writing skills. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual and audio attention. Ability to work well in a team environment. Basic computer skills. Be able to read and interpret blueprints. Be able to use a variety of precision measuring instruments, including bevel protractor, micrometers, calipers, scales.
