CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer/OperatorDevelops, edits, and optimizes CNC programs and tool paths for Haas VF-3 vertical machining centers and VF-2 drilling machines in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for creating and editing tool paths for machining operations on the VF-3, and writing, editing, and optimizing production drilling programs for the VF-2, in addition to setting up and operating the assigned CNC equipment.Create, edit, and optimize CNC tool paths/programs for Haas VF-3 vertical machining centersWrite, edit, and optimize production drilling programs (G-code) for VF-2 drilling machinesSet up and operate assigned VF-3 and VF-2 CNC machines, including tooling, offsets, and workholdingCheck that items produced pass quality control requirementsVerify new and edited programs via graphics/dry-run and first-article inspection before releasing to productionPerform complex troubleshooting of equipment and perform adjustments or repairsRead and interpret blueprints and engineering specificationsUse required gaging instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators) to verify part dimensions and tolerancesCollaborate with team members to increase overall throughputConsult with management and help with trainingProvide leadership, coaching and mentoring when neededComplete all necessary documents fully and accuratelyAdhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedOver 5 years of experience, including hands-on CNC programming and setup on Haas (or similar) vertical machining and drilling equipmentAbility to interpret work instructionsAbility to follow written and verbal directionsIntermediate verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to write and edit CNC tool paths and G-code/M-code programs for VF-3 mills and VF-2 drilling machinesAdvanced use of required gaging instruments and the application of such instrumentsProblem-solving skillsLeadership skills
