AbouttheOpportunity

Ourclient,anestablishedpersonalinjuryfirm,isseekinganAssociateAttorneytomanagecasesfromintakethroughsettlementortrialwithguidancefromSeniorandManagingAttorneys.

Theroleprimarilyhandleslower-to-moderatecomplexityclaimswhilesupportingseniorattorneysoncomplexmatters.Practiceareasincludemotorvehicleaccidents,premisesliability,medicalmalpractice,andotherinjuryclaims.

Responsibilities
• Manageanassignedcaseload,meetcourtdeadlines,andmaintainactivecaseprogression.
• Interviewclientsandevaluatemedicalrecords,bills,policereports,insuranceinformation,andotherevidencetoassessliability,causation,anddamages.
• Conductlegalresearchanddevelopcasestrategieswithseniorattorneyguidance.
• Draftandreviewdemands,pleadings,motions,discovery,subpoenas,memoranda,andotherlegaldocuments.
• Takeanddefenddepositionsofpartiesandtreatingproviders,withguidanceasneeded.
• Representclientsathearings,mediations,settlementconferences,andtrialswithappropriatesupport.
• Negotiatewithinsurersandopposingcounselwithindefinedsettlementauthority.

RequiredQualifications
• JurisDoctorfromanaccreditedlawschool.
• ActiveVirginiabarlicenseingoodstanding.
• Understandingoflegalresearch,litigationprocedures,claimsevaluation,andinsurancenegotiationsappropriatetoexperiencelevel.
• Strongorganization,prioritization,attentiontodetail,andlegaljudgment.
• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsandcommitmenttoresponsive,compassionateclientservice.

PreferredExperience
• Approximately1-4yearsofrelevantlegalexperience,ideallyincludingpersonalinjurylitigation.
• Experienceinpersonalinjury,masstorts,ormedicalmalpractice.
• Newlylicensedattorneyswithrelevantpersonalinjuryinternshipsorrelatedlegalexperiencewillalsobeconsidered.
