Landscape Maintenance SupervisorGreat career opportunity to join a high quality municipal Public Works Department in the City of Thousand Oaks!The City is seeking a knowledgeable and results oriented Landscape Maintenance Supervisor who will effectively lead a team of maintenance crew members and equipment operators in the administration of the City's landscape and maintenance programs.Primary responsibilities include overseeing operations of City landscape construction and maintenance programs; managing and supervising work crews; planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff; creating and distributing reports to departments and other agencies; developing biannual operations budgets for both General Fund and Landscape Assessment Districts; preparing and/or editing landscape and irrigation construction plans, work plans, standard operating procedures, and maintenance calendars; developing Scopes of Work and site maps for service agreements and task orders; documenting and reporting costs for both in-house maintenance operations and contracted services; and attending after-hours City Council, Planning Commission, and public outreach meetings on as-needed basis.This position requires working after hours emergency and on call duties as necessary.The ideal candidate should possess six or more years of increasingly responsible landscape maintenance experience, including one year of lead supervisory responsibility; a high school diploma supplemented by college level course work in landscape architecture, horticulture, forestry or related field; ability to effectively motivate and lead others; ability to exercise good judgment, and make effective, timely and informed decisions; ability to work and communicate effectively with different stakeholders such as residents; State of California Department of Pesticide Regulations Qualified Applicator Certificate Categories B & C; International Society of Arboriculture Certification; and a valid Class C California driver's license.The first review of candidates will take place on August 24, 2026.
