Step into a rewarding special education teaching assignment where you can make a real difference for students in a supportive academic environment. This contract position, beginning August 31, 2026, and extending through June 10, 2027, offers the opportunity to work full-time—37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday—in a setting III/centerbase LAUNCH classroom. Located in a vibrant school community near Elk River, MN, this role focuses on shaping growth and fostering independence in students with complex learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teacher license—Tier 3 or Tier 4 required
- Previous experience with center-based or setting III special education classrooms strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Skilled at creating inclusive, engaging, and positive classroom environments
- Dedication to ongoing collaboration with families, staff, and related services providers
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and behavioral supports
- Document student progress and adjust instruction to promote growth
- Communicate regularly with families and staff, fostering a strong support network
- Cultivate a safe and welcoming classroom culture that celebrates diversity
