Regional Supervisor of Safety & Wellness

Location: Denver, CO

Reports to: Regional Safety Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE

To support employee benefit, health & wellness, safety programs and activities of Bimbo QSR US. Ensures continuous safety compliance and training programs in accordance to Federal, state, local agencies and company guidelines.

Lead Safety compliance, training, injury/accident prevention programs:

• Develops, executes and maintains effective employee safety program training in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA).
• Research and develops safety training programs for all work groups i.e. bakery and distribution. Provides resources to the other departments for their safety needs.
• Establishes/directs company management/employee safety committees to increase/heighten level of safety awareness throughout the facilities and effectively reduce/prevent the quantity/severity of accidents. Investigates work related accidents and develops solutions for future prevention. Implements effective safety programs to reduce cost of workers compensation.
• Creates and maintains safety related reports.
• Manages the administration of Workers Compensation Program; collaborates with third party administrator. Manages workers comp case for each employee. Represents the company at hearings or court w counsel.
• Accompanies officials of regulatory agencies on plant inspections of the facility; performs any follow up necessary to ensure the timely correction of all deficiencies and violations discovered during inspections and keeps supervision advised.
• Participates in bakery zone tours to identify any potential safety concerns.
• Conduct safety risk assessment of any new bakery equipment prior to employees operating new equipment to ensure proper safety guarding and operator training is completed.
• Order and maintain appropriate supply of PPE equipment: (Face masks, ear plugs, protective gear, etc).
• Recommend and manage safety recognition programs.
• Coordinates annual hearing test through third party.

Knowledge/Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• B.S. Business, Human Resources or Safety related field.
• 5 or more years’ experience as a Safety Leader/Trainer in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. OSHA Compliance.
• Experience administrating workers compensation benefits.
• Good analytical and communication skills (oral and written).
• Computer proficient: Excel, ADP.
• Available to travel 50% to support all the BQ US bakeries.
