The Field Service Technicians will service, troubleshoot, and repair all makes of material handling equipment at customer locations. Prior mechanical work experience is preferred.Raymond West is committed to providing our customers with end-to-end warehouse solutions. Our customers trust us to provide the right supply chain solutions and services to keep their business up and running.Duties and Responsibilities:Repair all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.Update training and skills on a continuing basis.Train other employees as needed.Maintain a profitable billing level.Follow all Service Department procedures.Communicate with assigned Field Supervisor.Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion.Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.Represent the entire company at all times.Pass Raymond Certification and re-certification if applicable.Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company's insurance carrier.Report accidents whether self or customer.Account for 100% of available time during working hours.Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.Must coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.Must follow all procedures in the company's Employee Handbook.Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.Establish a positive rapport with customers.Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service Supervisors or Managers.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read, write and speak English fluentlyExcellent Organizational Time Management skillsProficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar softwareAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departmentsMust be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as requiredMust be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.Must be self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently.Must be customer oriented.Able to exhibit professional behavior at all times.Willing to follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department.Ability to deal with customers on a face-to-face basis.Maintain a sound working relationship with other technicians and fellow workers.Must pass all available certificates appropriate to the position.Must have working knowledge of basic D.C. electricity, basic A.C. electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Raymond Level 1 Certified or working towards that goal, if applicable.Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than the allowable level of points on record, if applicable.Maintain personally owned tools according to approved minimum tool list.Maintain additional tools as required by duties and certification level.Must be able to take direction.Must be a team player, i.e., to work with peers.Must have working knowledge of hydraulic systems.Must have mechanical abilities.Must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.Willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.Motivated to continuous self-development and training.Willing to assume more responsibility as required.Education/Experience:High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent.Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Travel Requirement:This position will be based in the field and require daily travel within assigned territories,Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses.Must be able to be insured by Raymond WestPhysical Requirements:Position is non-SedentarySpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.Position will be required to go onto job sites to perform duties where construction is underway.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.The position will require employee to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.The employee is occasionally required to smell.Position requires the employee to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch and crawlThe employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.Pay Range:The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $45.00.
