SupportCare Assistant
HawthornChildren'sPsychiatricHospitalprovidesspecialized careforchildrenandadolescents diagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for a positive and energetic Support Care Assistant who has an interest in helping children with mental illness maximize their potential.
Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence.ThisisaccomplishedbyfollowingtheFoundationofSanctuary–TheFourPillarsof(1)TraumaTheory,(2)SevenCommitments,(3)S.E.L.F.(Safety,Emotion,Loss,andFuture),(4) Sanctuary Tool Kit.
Responsibilities
- Thisisasecond-leveldirectcarepositionwhichmayfunctionasalead worker
- Accountableforassistingindividualswithactivesofdaily living
- Assistincheckingvitalsigns,height/weightas assigned
- Collectsandmaintainrecordsoffluidintakeand output
- Reportsonthe conditionof individuals
- Participatesinrehabilitation,ambulationand transfers
- Maybeaccountableforpreparing,administeringandchartingmedicationunderthe direction of a professional nurse
- Transportsindividualsinstatevehiclestotheirappointmentsand activities
- Assistswithstaffschedulingas needed
- Reportcomplaintsofclientsandstafforotherincidentswhichrequirefurtheractionto immediate supervisor
