About the Role

The Company is seeking a visionary Head of Oncology Drug Discovery and Development to lead the strategic advancement of research in transforming science into medicines. The successful candidate will be the primary champion for the oncology therapeutic area, responsible for integrating cutting-edge science, clinical development insights, and commercialization considerations to advance a high-value pipeline from discovery into clinical trials. This executive leadership role demands a deep understanding of oncology research, biotechnology platforms, and drug discovery and development, with a focus on fostering high-performing research and development teams, and building institutional and external partnerships to ensure sustained growth and national prominence. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical R&D, or academic translational research. Experience in mentoring teams through drug development milestones, including IND submission and/or startup formation, is highly valued. The Head of Oncology Drug Discovery and Development will also serve as the Associate Director for Translational Research in the Comprehensive Cancer Center, contributing to the senior leadership group and supporting the mission to accelerate the discovery and development of transformative medicines. Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, licensing and ventures professionals, and regulatory leaders are essential for this role.
