Head Coach

Compensation: competitive pay depending on experience Benefits: mileage reimbursement, option for 401k, and option for health insurance 20-40 hours a week Summary of Position: As head coach, you will share and support the vision of the Club Director and Club. Head coach will organize schedules, manage players and parents, plan drills, develop individuals and team, oversee team dynamic, communicate, coordinate games and tournaments, ensure a safe environment while following the club curriculum to fit the team and player needs. Head coach will report to DOC weekly. Required Duties: Develop and manage player Develop Individual Players Develop individual skills and knowledge of the game Develop Psychology of player (confidence, mental strength, etc.) Team life skills through the sport and experiences Inspire passion and fun Develop and Manage Team(s) Train ONE-THREE teams 2-3 times per week each Each team has 2 team trainings at 1.5 hours each and 1 technical training day for 1 hour Be on time End on time Schedule tournaments through Technical Director for the year Min of 2 for youngers and competitive teams Min of 4 for college travel teams Coach 1-2 games on the weekends year round/team If no games, schedule scrimmages or run training sessions Communicate with player and parents when needed Provide player analysis reports post fall season and post spring season to players Meet player roster requirements each year 7v7 teams - 12 paid players 9v9 teams - 14 paid players 11v11 teams - 16 paid players Schedule team meetings preseason and postseason to go over expectations and club protocols Utilize Veo to record matches Record at least 2 games a season to upload Attempt 1-2 match analysis sessions per year Send game recaps within 48 hours of a game Copy Club Director on all recaps Manage sideline behavior Turn in team goals evaluation to Director each year per team Implement the club culture in team environment Teach the game in units and a whole Teach 4 phases of the game Teach roles and responsibilities of each positions Plan training sessions at least one week prior to session Management and Coach Development: Be available to cover Game conflicts Training conflicts JR Bulls conflicts Adult league conflicts Provide monthly player reports to director when directed Learn the cal south and CSL and SoCal and US Club soccer rules (in dropbox) Learn Club rules and policies (in manual and dropbox folder) Participate at all club events and functions Parent Cup End of year party Heal the bay Merch launch Meet and Greets And others Attend scheduled coaches meetings Once a month Attend club organized coaching education opportunities Identify Team Managers Train team managers Communicate closely with DOC/TD regarding individual players Admin and Operation Duties: Help with Field set up and break down Crank up light generators and turn on Put up parking signs and cones Put away all equipment and sweep fields before closing Lock shed and keep shed clean Crank down light generators and turn off properly Manage calendar and organize team snap platform Manage Techne account Keep a spreadsheet of scrimmages played against opponents, level, score Manage team manager Complete and fulfill all coaching and gotsport requirements Ensure paychex timesheets are turned in ON TIME Required to enter ALL hours worked for each pay period Manage team and player budget Keep track of jersey numbers Send out annual contract offers using Bulls template Track registrations and payments of each player Vacation - Time off should only be taken during club breaks Refer to club annual calendar Extra Opportunities (Must be approved by Club Director) Winter Camp and Summer camp Two week each camp Monday - Thursday 8:30am-3pm Coordinate Camps and programs Paint lines on field Monitor Parking lots during training Record games Other Work Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university HS/College level playing experience Experience working with youth The Coach shall hold and maintain at least a grassroots level coaching license Experience coaching youth club soccer Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, work under pressure Ability to take initiative and work independently with a minimum amount of supervision Ability to work collaboratively in a professional manner with a diverse group of co-workers, partners, and stakeholders Desire to embrace the the mission of the LA Bulls to promote proper youth development Strong computer skills, including the ability to easily navigate the internet and create google documents such as word, excel, and powerpoint documents Must have up to date CPR and First Aid or be willing to obtain such certification Must possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance at the time of hire Must possess a vehicle or other means of transportation Some experience in public speaking (coaching, team meetings, etc) Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated success in planning and running yearly training session programs to enhance player development Ability to demonstrate activities and drills Demonstrated success in building a strong team culture Demonstrated success in recruiting and managing players General understanding of SoCal league and US club soccer, and Cal South Familiarity with West LA and LA county geography Coach must wait for all players' rides to show up before leaving any scrimmages, training sessions or games and assist with any equipment set up and clean up pre and post training sessions. The Coach shall know and follow the rules of the Club, CalSouth, US Club soccer,, and the league that we play in and any tournaments the Team and Coach participates in. The Coach shall address any ambiguity or conflicts between these rules with the Director of Coaching and shall follow the direction of the Director of Coaching. The Coach shall wear Club-approved coaching/training gear at all Club events including games, practices, team functions, and tournaments. Any Club-required coaching/training gear will be provided to the Coach at the Club’s expense. Coaches are not allowed to accept favors, money or gifts from Club families at any time. During holiday time gifts may be accepted but all gifts must be reported to the Director of Coaching prior to officially accepting it. The Coach shall comply with any applicable federal, state or local law, rule, or regulation. The Coach shall immediately report to the Director of Coaching on all issues or problems that arise with respect to the Coach’s conduct or compliance or with the conduct or compliance of the Team or any individual member of the Team or parent of a player. The Coach understands players in delinquent payment status cannot participate in Club activities until their payments are current.
