Job Opportunity: Maintenance Assistant

Schedule: Part-time 24 hour

Job Description: Are you a skilled individual with a knack for fixing things? Do you thrive in an environment where you can apply your expertise in maintaining and repairing various systems? We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair the facility's physical plant and its various systems, including plumbing, electrical, structural, and equipment.

• Safely operate equipment, power, and hand tools to carry out maintenance tasks effectively.

• Advise appropriate facility personnel of any potential shut-downs, enabling the staff to provide alternate plans for the continuation of operations.

• Plan efficient use of time to complete tasks promptly and effectively.

• Cooperate with all other staff members to minimize disruption to the facility's operations.

• Inspect the facility regularly and report any needed repairs promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.

• Ability to perform, and working knowledge of, routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds keeping tasks including painting, wallpapering, and shoveling snow.

• Valid drivers’ license and safe driving record.

• The Maintenance Assistant demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.

• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks.
