Inspire STEM: Flexible Mentoring for K-12 Students

Overview STEM for Others is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free, personalized STEM education and mentorship to students from underrepresented communities. Our volunteer mentors work one-on-one with students to build confidence, spark curiosity, and open doors to future opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. Responsibilities Provide free, personalized STEM tutoring and mentorship to K-12 students Meet virtually or in-person with your student(s) on a flexible, recurring basis Help students with homework, test prep, and STEM projects Serve as a role model and guide for students interested in STEM careers Collaborate with our team to track student progress and goals Who We're Looking For College students, graduate students, or professionals with a background or interest in STEM Patient, enthusiastic, and committed to making a difference Comfortable working with youth from diverse backgrounds No prior teaching experience required — just a passion for STEM and mentorship! Time Commitment Typically 2-4 hours per week Flexible scheduling based on your availability and your student's needs Ongoing commitment preferred (semester or longer) Why Volunteer with STEM for Others? The issue is more pronounced for socio-economically disadvantaged families as the disparity in STEM education widens as they face substantial hurdles in accessing quality learning opportunities. We believe that advancement in STEM is the greatest equalizer that creates the greatest opportunities for upward mobility.
