Description: This position requires the nurse to float between units as needed. Some weekend shifts are required. The expected patient ratios are Labor 1:2 and Antepartum 1:3. Candidates should have experience in Acute Care High Risk Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Pre-eclampsia, Diabetes, Multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, and active management of laboring patients. Knowledge in induction/augmentation and handling maternal emergencies is essential. The facility is a teaching hospital equipped with a total of 629 staffed beds. Charting is performed using an electronic system. Candidates must have a compact license in hand at submission. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Flexibility with scheduling and time-off requests is important. Candidates must commit to working three of five specified holidays during the contract period. References are required from candidates covering the last year of experience. This position may require communication devices to be supplied by the client at no cost.
