Remote Benefits Sales Representative

Description We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. As the Health & Benefits Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of employee benefits for our clients. In this dynamic position, you will perform in-depth analyses for larger, complex clients, collaborating with Mercer subject matter experts to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Provide financial, contract, and administrative analysis while managing portions of client projects and addressing ad‑hoc operational requests. Support financial review and funding analysis, including underwriting, data analytics, and collaboration with actuaries. Contribute to client strategy by interpreting benchmark data, presenting insights, and ensuring plan and program changes align with client objectives. Manage project quality, timelines, and deliverables; delegate to and review work from junior team members. Coordinate internal specialty resources to ensure deliverables meet client goals, deadlines, and professional standards. Lead preparation, peer review, and delivery of clear, concise, client‑facing communications and reports. Work directly with clients to manage the request for proposal (RFP) process with health insurance carriers and internal analysts. Establish and manage carrier and vendor relationships to support benefits administration, compliance, and plan implementation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 2‑5 years of experience in health & benefits, preferably in a consulting environment. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize by level of urgency. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). What makes you stand out? Holds a valid L&H License or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
