Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Telemetry Certification Must-Have: IV drip experience PCU Telemetry certified Description: This position is for an RN in a progressive care unit. The unit has 47 beds. It employs a mix of staff including RNs and PCTs. The typical patient ratios range from 4-6 depending on patient acuity. The unit is equipped with Alaris pumps, a PYXIS machine, epicardial pacing boxes, and LVAD equipment. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Typical procedures on the unit include blood transfusions, IV drip titration, pain medication administration, and general medication administration. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and be a team player. They should have a patient-centered approach to care and treat patients like family. Traveling staff members should expect to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Floating to med/surg may be required as needed.
