Laboratory Assistant

Job Description

Hudson Hospital/Clinics is hiring for a Laboratory Assistant position.

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Provide clerical, customer service, and technical assistance including phlebotomy and specimen processing, for the Laboratory Department in support of positive patient outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Computer proficient with MS Office.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (neonatal through geriatric).
• Must have manual dexterity to perform venipunctures safely and accurately.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• Prefer a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a detailed, fast paced clinical laboratory environment including phlebotomy.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

• Phlebotomy Certification Preferred.
