Lead Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support)

Duties The position is in the United States Attorney's Office ("USAO") located in Dallas, TX. If selected for this position, you will serve as Lead Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support). Duties will include, but are not limited to: Explaining and setting team goals, priorities, and objectives, and providing information to the supervisor on team performance. Oversees team members and monitors workload to ensure it is balanced among team members in accordance with established workflow, while also assisting with tasks and the workload. Creates and implements districtwide protocols for case information (discovery) submitted to the LTU as well as protocols for LTU processing. Assesses training needs and provides training to team members on all aspects of litigation support functions. Providing analyses of systems and complex data to improve trial results and team services. Planning, creating, and coordinating litigation support services including trial preparation and presentation. Analyzing litigation support software and support systems and taking action to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Organizing, tracking and analyzing voluminous amounts of digital evidence for complex cases handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Clearly, effectively, and respectfully communicating information related to assignments, work orders, issues, solutions, and project status to a wide variety of individuals, including attorneys, supervisors, and other office staff, LTU colleagues, IT personnel, law enforcement officers and agents, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Requirements Conditions of employment You must be a United States Citizen or National. You will be required to complete a pre‑employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening. Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file. You must meet all eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement and continue to meet these requirements throughout the hiring process. Time‑in‑Grade: Federal employees must meet time‑in‑grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. If selected, you may be required to complete a one‑year probationary period. Qualifications To qualify for the position of Lead Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support), at GS-0901‑12, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

GS-12

To be eligible at the GS‑12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑11 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Experience organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing, and controlling of documents into a data base; Preparing computerized trial presentation programs; Analyzing litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs; Diagnosing and resolving litigation support computer system problems and customizing databases and programs; Performing Lead duties, including but not limited to overseeing and distributing workload assignments to team members, setting goals and priorities, developing protocols for operating procedures, and performing quality control checks, of team members. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
