The ideal Technical Operations Supervisor will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the technical elements for all projects for the Entertainment Division. This candidate must display and live out “Lead with Love” qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture. Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provide leadership to onsite Technical Operations Team across the campus by understanding, supporting, and enforcing policies, procedures, and management decisions Oversee the installation and operation of all technical aspects supporting live production shows, special events, concerts, and contracted acts Support the team by overseeing hiring and be a responsive and positive leader in all aspects of daily operations Maintain Inventory control of Dollywood equipment and supplies for all Entertainment venues Ensure cleanliness and organization standards by maintaining cleaning procedures across all assigned venues Implementation and planning for Warehouse clean out along with a quarterly assessment of items/space Develop, support, initiate and/or provide training for a variety of equipment and operations including, but not limited to: lighting consoles, audio consoles, projectors, computer/control systems, follow spots, rigging, counterweight systems, fog/haze/snow machines, etc. Oversee routine maintenance and inspection procedures and perform regular audits to ensure all standards are being met or exceeded Provide technical expertise in both hands‑on and supervisory situations, ensuring a high‑quality entertainment experience for Park Guests and team operational/procedural cohesion Provide planning, development, coordination, and implementation assistance and support as directed for all new or existing shows and activations Initiate and/or provide training and awareness of Safety procedures and policies Ensure safety compliance across all facets and locations of Technical Operations by completing regular audits of paperwork, training, operations, and immediately report, correct, and re‑train as needed. Serve as a point of contact to vendors as needed Supervise departmental purchasing for technical support/equipment and departmental capital expenditures in conjunction with Technical Operations Specialist and Entertainment Manager Represent Entertainment as PIC and Safety Trainer Set the standards for a culture of excellence and teamwork by defining clear goals, proper planning, ensuring follow‑through and accountability Ensure efficiency of operation and excellence in execution across all teams through continued improvement of training, procedures, and operations Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time. Education and Experience Required Minimum 18 years of age Advanced education from a college or Certificate from a Technical school in a related field A minimum of 5 years’ experience required, demonstrating successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a live show environment Excellent computer proficiency. Experienced in Microsoft Office and some competence in CAD software Excellent working knowledge of theatrical equipment at all levels of complexity, including installation and operation Previous experience operating, programming, and troubleshooting technical equipment Must successfully complete a background check including motor vehicle and pre‑employment drug screening Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees Must be self‑motivated and disciplined Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene Must be productive in a fast‑paced environment Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills Must be able to communicate effectively using approved communication methods Able to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects ahead of schedule, fostering open communication and mutual support to achieve shared goals Able to comprehend instructions and retain information Able to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guests Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy Able to tolerate various temperatures while working indoors and outdoors Able to meet the physical demands of the job Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, bend, reach, twist and move about Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Reaching high and low Must have manual dexterity to complete all job duties Seeing near and far with good depth perception and correct color vision Ability to tolerate show levels of sound in a theater environment Ability to accommodate changes in schedules and assignments and relay changes to crews easily and Ability to operate, program, and troubleshoot technical High level of knowledge of electricity and network systems Ability to operate and train the safe use of hand tools and power tools such as voltmeters, soldering irons, clamp on DMM, hand drills, electric saws, hammers, screw guns, wrenches, pliers, genius lifts, scissor lifts, ladders, etc. Reading, writing, and math skills necessary to Label consoles, dimmers, cables, etc. Read meters and console monitor Diagram signal flow charts, lighting plots, patch sheets, for reference and Understand related schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer Able to tolerate and have knowledge of commercial chemicals, e.g., cleaning solvents, adhesives, paints, lubricants, fog and hazer fluids Ability to initiate inventory lists, bi‑weekly maintenance logs, and monthly safety reports of related equipment Ability and mobility to work on a variety of surfaces, i.e., carpet, wood, steel, and concrete while being able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, lay, lift and carry Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods The Dollywood Company is an equal opportunity employer.
