Continuous Improvement Engineer Co-Op

Co-Op Term duration: January 2027 - August 2027, or May 2027 - December 2027APTAR --- WHO ARE WE?At Aptar, we use insights, design, engineering and science to create innovative packaging technologies that build brand value for our customers, and in turn, make a meaningful difference in the lives, looks, health and homes of people around the world.Every day, Aptar creates “a-ha moments” for its customers and their consumers by continually bringing innovations to market that convert non-dispensing packaging into breakthrough product-dispensing systems, including those that give people more effective ways to put on their favorite fragrance, kids the opportunity to pour ketchup without making a mess, as well as development of medical devices which aid the consumer in dispensing of medicine.We have manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, Asia and South America and over 13,000 dedicated employees in 18 different countries.JOB ELEMENTS & POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide hands-on support to the Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing teams.Participate in Aptar’s continuous improvement process by using structured problem-solving techniques.Perform root cause analysis to help solve problems in the manufacturing process.Lead small projects & improvement activities to enhance processes throughout the plant.Assist in implementing machine & process changes that support continuous improvement.Contribute to cross-functional teams focused on cost-saving initiatives & operational improvements.Assist with statistical analysis, solution verification, & validation of improvement countermeasures.Participate in 5S audits & support ongoing 5S improvements across the plant.QUALIFICATIONS:Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Quick learner who can adapt & perform well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Self-motivated & confident, with the ability to take initiative & drive tasks forward.Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively both independently & in cross-functional groups.Experience with—or willingness to learn—AutoCAD or similar design software.Excellent organizational & time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.Proficiency with computers & Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.Strong written & verbal communication skills.All other duties as assigned.LOCATION: The student must be able to commute to our site in Mukwonago, WI.HOURS: This is a Monday - Friday schedule, working approximately 40 hours per week.
