Compliance Analyst | New Haven, Connecticut | $70,000 - $85,000 + Hybrid Working

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Compliance Analyst to join its growing Compliance & Risk team in New Haven, Connecticut .

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with experience in AML, sanctions, and client onboarding to join a highly regarded global firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm's regulatory and financial crime compliance framework while contributing to the development of new processes within a collaborative international team.

Location: New Haven, CT

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct client due diligence (CDD) on individuals, companies, trusts, and other entities.
• Review and analyse onboarding documentation, identifying any additional information required.
• Perform AML and reputational risk assessments on new and existing clients.
• Conduct sanctions screening, PEP checks, and adverse media searches.
• Utilise compliance and research tools including World-Check, Orbis, Experian, and corporate registries.
• Support the firm's client onboarding and new business intake processes.
• Respond to compliance-related queries from lawyers, business services teams, and clients.
• Assist with conflicts checks, file audits, and wider compliance projects.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 1 year's experience within compliance, AML, risk, or financial crime, ideally gained within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong interest in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Intapp, Elite, or similar compliance systems is advantageous.
