Job Title: Tack Welder

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Pay: $16-18 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm

Job Summary: Tack Welder responsible for positioning, aligning, and securing metal components using tack welds prior to final welding. Skilled in reading blueprints and work orders, setting up welding equipment, measuring and verifying dimensions, and inspecting welds for quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform tack welding to hold metal parts and components in place before final welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding diagrams.
• Set up and operate MIG, TIG, or stick welding equipment as required.
• Position, align, and secure metal parts using clamps, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Measure and verify dimensions and alignment before and after welding.
• Inspect tack welds for proper size, placement, and quality.
• Make adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances.
• Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces before welding.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of on the job experience
• Familiarity with sheet metal

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a MIG Welder or similar welding role
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols (preferred)
• Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle repetitive tasks
• Capable of lifting and positioning materials as required
