Financial Analyst

job summary:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial support and oversight of the finance activities for the organization. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This individual will complete all the FP&A and controlling activities, coordination of internal and external audits, overseeing of all financial systems, and supporting process improvement projects within Finance. Responsible for continuous communication and coordination with management and other operation teams to ensure data quality. Provides reliable, relevant and timely financial and operating performance information and analysis for management decision making and business and strategy development.

responsibilities:

• Prepare and support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring compliance to timetables and procedures.
• Utilize the company established planning platform and reporting to complete monthly actuals and planning cycles.
• Completes monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for consolidation purposes with Italian Headquarters including Sales, Headcount, Overhead, Inventory, Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow),Banks, AR Aging, etc.
• Completes monthly actual to plan variance analysis, determines root causes, and makes recommendations for adjustments as part of the monthly closing process.
• Creates and delivers monthly cost center reports, including project reporting for the areas of Medical Affairs, Marketing, etc.
• Complete monthly executive financial reporting package, including Financial Statements, Backlog, Sales, Headcount, Key financial metrics, etc.
• Generates operational reporting packages including weekly sales reports, monthly production reports, scrap reports, key operational KPI's, quarterly royalties reports, etc.
• Prepare and coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Completes all CO activities within SAP related to costing and cost center budgeting and planning. Develop product costing and variance reporting, implement improvements to reporting and systems as required.
• Maintenance of all accounting systems, including master data and system changes to ensure data integrity.
• Pull, manipulate, and analyze data from internal databases to generate weekly and monthly financial reporting packages.
• Implement the identified process improvement and system enhancement activities within the Finance organization.
• Researches ways of streamlining and standardizing processes to support the Accounting/Finance function.
• Develop ad hoc analytical reports as requested to facilitate data-driven business decisions.
• Adheres to and supports established internal control procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, US GAAP, and Italian IFRS.
• Executes assigned internal control tasks, assists in documenting control effectiveness, and highlights potential risks or areas for improvement to management.
• Support maintenance of formal, standardized processes and controls for each key responsibility.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
• Requires 1-3 years of progressive accounting, finance and controlling experience
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and basic financial statements
• Business Intelligence software experience such as Alteryx Designer, Databricks, Boomi, Power BI, etc.
• Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Sumifs, Index/Match) and Google Sheets.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

• CPA is a plus
• SAP experience and knowledge-base (FI/CO most preferable, SD/MM/PP is a plus )
• Manufacturing and financial reporting experience with knowledge of product costing and inventory accounting/management
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical diagnostic industry
• Microsoft Access, VBA, SQL programming experience
