Step into a rewarding role supporting student learning and development as a Teacher Assistant at a vibrant middle school near Jamaica, NY. This contract position calls for energetic professionals prepared to make a daily difference in the academic journey of young learners.
Your expertise as a Paraprofessional will be put to work assisting classroom teachers with instructional plans, supporting students with varying needs, and creating an encouraging learning environment. You’ll have the unique opportunity to foster growth and build positive relationships with both students and staff.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- Current and active New York State Teaching Assistant Certification (required)
- Experience as a Paraprofessional in educational settings, particularly with middle school students
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and school personnel
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for supporting students in reaching their potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Provide individual and small group support to students during classroom and non-classroom settings
- Supervise students in various school activities, ensuring safety and engagement
- Help maintain an organized and inclusive classroom environment
- Support behavioral management strategies in collaboration with the teaching staff
