Industrial Mechanic. Pay: $30.51/hr. The Opportunity: As an Industrial Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. In this hands‑on position, you will apply your mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support continuous production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment to support safe and efficient operations. Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and performance. Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and utility systems to minimize downtime. Help ensure equipment operates within OEM standards and production requirements. Support a strong safety culture by following all safety procedures and completing required pre‑task analyses. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance. What You Need to Succeed: Previous industrial maintenance or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance documentation. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Basic computer skills and the ability to operate maintenance‑related systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a continuous‑run manufacturing environment. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability. Flexibility to work varying shifts, hours, and overtime as business needs require. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to frequently use hands and arms to perform maintenance and repair tasks. Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds with assistance. Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and in a manufacturing environment.
