Director, Alumni Relations - (496672 )

Department: Dean, Natural Sciences &Math Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education Description Responsible for the strategic planning, conceptualization, andexecution of all internal and external events for an assignedcollege.

1. Manages, plans, and implements programs in collaboration withcommunity and alumni partners including but not limited to:Advancement, University of Houston Alumni Association, StudentOrganizations, etc.
2. Manages events and activities on and off campus such as classreunions, alumni-student mentoring programs, receptions, awarddinners and ceremonies, networking events, tailgates, etc. todevelop relationships between the college and its alumni andincrease participation in college activities.
3. Maintains and expands various alumni programs through thedevelopment and implementation of new programming based on themissions of the College and its Alumni Association.
4. Serves as primary liaison between University of Houston AlumniAssociation (in relation to assigned organizations) and the CollegeAlumni Association.
5. Monitors and manages budgets of programs, special events andalumni/donor databases.
6. Negotiates and supervise all decisions made with vendors andmanages contracts, on-site event logistics, and the selection ofon-site event staff and volunteers.
7. Works closely with the Director of Communication to create andimplement marketing strategies for specific constituentbases.
8. Supervises and develops input for the creation of alumnicommunications such as newsletters, websites, social media, flyers,and invitations.
9. Collaborates with alumni leaders to resolve issues facingconstituent groups and the College's Alumni Association membersthrough researching issues and recommending possiblesolutions.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience will be considered in lieu ofeducation. Education will be considered in lieu ofexperience. MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical andpractical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtainedthrough a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a collegeor university or an equivalent in-depth specialized trainingprogram that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directlyjob-related experience. All positions at the University of Houston System are securitysensitive and will require a criminal history check.
