Cloud Operations ManagerOur partner is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide rapid deployment and management of secure cloud-based engagement kits for cyber incident response and threat hunting operations. Working on this team means directly supporting the nation's cybersecurity defenders by ensuring they have reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure available within hours of a cyber incident—helping protect America's digital infrastructure when it matters most.The Cloud Operations Manager will lead the end-to-end management of cloud engagement kits, ensuring rapid deployment, maintenance, and retirement of cloud-based infrastructure supporting critical incident response and threat hunting operations. This position requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in high-stakes operational environments. Serving as the operational lead, you will be the primary point of contact for government stakeholders while coordinating cloud infrastructure operations and technical capability delivery throughout the engagement lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesOversee provisioning and fulfillment of engagement kit requests within eight business hours of federal authorizationManage decommissioning and secure termination of engagement kits following data archival confirmationCoordinate with engagement leads, analysts, case managers, and federal leadership to ensure mission alignmentProduce and deliver weekly operational reports summarizing engagement kit status, health, and performance metricsLead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for cloud infrastructure issuesManage resource allocation, scaling operations to match engagement requirementsEnsure compliance with security protocols including TLS 1.2/1.3 encryption and hardened cloud configurationsOversee software license management and coordinate hardware shipments when requiredDevelop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for cloud operationsServe as primary liaison between technical teams and government stakeholdersRequirementsU.S. CitizenshipActive TS/SCI ClearanceMust be able to obtain DHS SuitabilityBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or High School diploma and 10+ years of directly relevant experience8+ years of experience in cloud operations or infrastructure management3+ years of management or team leadership experienceExpert knowledge of AWS cloud services and architectureStrong understanding of cybersecurity principles and incident response operationsExperience managing 24/7 operational environmentsExcellent communication skills with ability to brief senior leadershipDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlinesDesired SkillsExperience supporting federal government programsBackground in cybersecurity operations or threat huntingExperience with DevOps methodologies and toolsDesired CertificationsAWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar cloud certificationPMPFor more than 20 years, NewGen Technologies has solved our clients' toughest IT challenges with integrity, security, and outstanding service by delivering both technology and talent.
