First Federal Bank of Louisiana is currently seeking a Loan Clerk – Consumer in the Loan Processing and Closing Department. The position is located at the Main Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Position Summary

Gathers required documentation from point of approval to closing by communicating and working with lenders. Prepares and reviews legal documents for closing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Processes all originated new and renewal non-real estate consumer from time of approval
• Assists Loan Review with review of appropriate documentation prior to loan closing
• Assembles and verifies accuracy and completeness of consumer loan documentation
• Answers telephone and written inquiries concerning consumer loan processing
• Enters data into computer for loan documentation tracking
• Prepares bills of sale, power of attorneys, and other documentation, as needed
• Assists with preparation of corrections for DMV, UCC, and other consumer filings
• Prepares legal documents for loan closings; coordinates closing appointment with lender
• Reviews closing documents for content and accuracy
• Reconciles the GL account for the consumer loans; transfers funds as appropriate
• Scans, indexes, and verifies new consumer loan documentation
• Prepares, reviews, and maintains reports, as needed
• Compliance training is assigned to all Bank personnel based on their position with the Bank. Employees are required to complete all assigned training timely and in accordance with Bank policy.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED,
• A minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training
• Some college or business school preferred, but not required
