About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Previous PACU or pre/post-operative experience preferred. Description: Support patients for all major surgical services. This unit supports all surgical/procedural populations, with the exception of patients requiring critical care services. Nurses provide care in pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for both pediatric and adult populations. The department offers pre/post-operative care for patients in a total of 34 operating rooms across two floors. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre-operative and recovery phases. The unit utilizes special equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein. Patient ratio is 1:2 - 3. Weekend shifts are required based on the contract schedule. Candidates should be ready to respond to emergency events as directed by the unit manager. Specific pay details related to emergency events will be communicated as necessary. No local travelers are accepted; candidates must reside over 65 miles from the facility. Candidates who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated for a full year before returning as travelers. References are not required for submission, but two manager/supervisor references will be needed for clearance to start. It is essential that the NURSYS report for RNs is up to date within four weeks of submission.
