Vice President, Development

The client is seeking an experienced professional for the Vice President for Development role. The position supports the evolution of a culture of philanthropy that engages trustees, curators, and senior staff members in donor relationships aimed at fostering major gifts and grants, with endowment growth as a key objective for long-term financial stability. The Vice President will develop and implement a strategic plan to broaden the museum’s base of financial support, with particular emphasis on national and international contributors. Core responsibilities include identifying, developing, and generating new sources of donations and grants from individuals and foundations, as well as strengthening contributed revenue to support the organization’s strategic framework. In addition to strategic planning, the role manages the Development Department and collaborates and coordinates with other museum departments. The Vice President will build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors across individual, foundation, and corporate stakeholders, and will work closely with senior leadership to advance development priorities and donor engagement efforts.
