Make an impact as a dedicated educator, supporting students with visual impairments in a school-based setting near Riverton, WY. This contract position offers a full-time schedule, allowing you to work closely with students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), helping them access the curriculum and reach their fullest potential.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Proficiency in adapting instructional materials, including Braille and tactile resources
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, therapists, and families
- Ability to assess students’ needs and monitor growth in both academic and daily living skills
- Flexibility, empathy, and a passion for inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and small group settings
- Develop and modify lesson plans tailored to students’ varied visual and academic needs
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accessible learning environments
- Provide support and training to staff and families on adaptive strategies and assistive technology
- Maintain accurate records, write progress reports, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Support students in developing compensatory, organizational, mobility, and life skills
