Oncology Sales Representative - Rhode Island / Southern Massachusetts

Merck seeks an Oncology Sales Representative to cover Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts, driving sales of oncology products through customer engagement and relationship building. The role involves field-based territory coverage, stakeholder education, and collaboration with internal teams to meet sales objectives.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals in collaboration with territory team members
• Meet with oncology stakeholders to understand practice structures, business models, and key influencers while building relationships
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products using approved messaging and resources
• Analyze purchasing patterns and market trends across multiple drug distribution channels
• Develop and execute short- and long-term account plans with local team and district manager oversight

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 6 years sales experience, or high school diploma with 8+ years equivalent professional experience
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive within assigned territory
• Willingness to travel 10-15% including overnight stays and reside within or near the district
• Knowledge of oncology treatment pathways, cancer staging, multidisciplinary care teams, and clinical guidelines
• 2+ years oncology field-based sales experience selling to oncology customers (preferred)
• Account management, CRM, data analysis, market analysis, and strategic planning capabilities
• Understanding of complex healthcare buying environments including GPOs, wholesalers, and specialty pharmacies
