Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a contract position for 16 to 26 weeks, with a start date of 9/07.

Schedule

The schedule includes 10-hour shifts during the day, rotating between days and evenings, plus call as required. Travelers must work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.

Job Description

The Endoscopy RN will be responsible for providing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Duties include monitoring patients during procedures and providing conscious sedation. The role requires no floating and involves performing numerous ERCPs.

Responsibilities

• Start IVs and assess history and physical information.
• Perform post-procedure recovery for patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Provide conscious sedation medication and monitor patients in the procedure room.
• Utilize EPIC for patient documentation within the past 2 years.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Prior travel experience is required.
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are mandatory; AHA PALS preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with recent experience in a Level 1 trauma center (large teaching facility of 500+ beds) is required.
• Experience with conscious sedation and monitoring is essential.
