Senior Associate, Growth & Fraud Strategy - New Verticals

We're looking for a Senior Associate to join our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team to build and shape the future of DoorDash within our Fulfillment & Logistics team. The Fulfillment & Logistics team’s goal is to drive cost and efficiency savings and quality improvements, through New Verticals (specifically the Convenience, Grocery, Alcohol, Retail and Dashmart verticals across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand), to empower operational leverage and growth. Collectively, we're building the world's most efficient and reliable same-day logistics platform to fulfill our vision of empowering all local businesses. About the Role Strategy & Operations Senior Associates are responsible for diving into some of our toughest operational problems to root cause them and run experiments to drive improvements. They are also responsible for working closely with cross-functional teams to hit goals and solve ambiguous business problems. This role will specifically be focused on improving our Customer Experience procedures to drive growth and retention, as well as improving our detection and elimination of Fraud on the New Verticals platform. Some examples of projects include: Partnering with the product, engineering, and analytics teams to establish goals and build strategic programs companywide Ensuring all activity on the New Verticals platform is done in good faith by building processes for the detection and management of fraud Completing end-to-end analysis that allows us to better identify the bad actors on our platform and improve the experience of good users Optimizing credit & refund policies to ensure fair outcomes for our customers and drive retention Working with cross-functional teams to build and optimize support agent workflows for New Verticals orders Using data-driven decision-making to run experiments in order to improve customer experience and reduce fraud while accelerating growth Improving customer satisfaction on the platform and unlocking additional growth avenues for the business Our best Senior Associates are truth seekers who enjoy solving difficult problems, working across the organization and getting 1% better everyday. They combine business context and analytics to take a problem area and implement a customized solution. In a typical day, you may complete a variety of tasks such as devising and executing experiments to drive growth, diving into data using analytical modeling and SQL skills to explain performance at the lowest level of detail, and building reports and tools that allow teams to scale their work 10x. You will work on cross-functional initiatives coordinating across product, engineering, data science, finance, and more to bring projects from 0-1 and 1-100. You are a generalist that is willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make the business successful. You will report to a Senior Manager on our Fulfillment & Logistics team in the New Verticals Strategy & Operations organization. Use data-driven analysis to run process improvement tests Work with a cross-functional team including operations, marketing, analytics, finance, and product to bring your ideas to market. Build models and process flows to evaluate quantitative and qualitative business cases for process improvement opportunities Operate at the lowest level of detail to understand the impact of your decisions and iterate given insights from data, you’re excited to dig into the details to pull out the real insights Continuously engage and cultivate relationships with customers to understand their needs and identify strategic bets that can create step-change improvements for them. Compensation in other geographies may vary. Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
