Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise in special education to an impactful in-person assignment as a resource room teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Situated near vibrant Lake Zurich, IL, this contract position offers the opportunity to support students’ growth and help them thrive both academically and socially. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll work full time (approximately 33.25 hours per week) in a dedicated resource room setting.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and current Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please provide a copy upon application.
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting is highly valued.
- Thorough understanding of the principles of special education and individualized instruction.
- Adaptable, patient, and committed to fostering student engagement and success.
- Skilled in collaboration with staff, families, and support teams to implement students’ IEPs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction tailored to diverse learners in the resource room environment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support professionals.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals.
