Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is needed in Louisville, Kentucky. The role involves providing patient care for individuals with complex health needs, including those requiring high flow oxygen, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and cardiac monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Louisville, Kentucky
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, at least 1 year of overall nursing experience, with 6 months of neuro experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Bipap, high flow oxygen requirements, trach care, chest tube management, PIV (Percutaneous Intravenous) starts, wound/skin care, blood product administration, cardiac monitor/telemetry, and central line care.
• Support within the Department: PCA/CNA support and charge nurse availability.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR (Cerner), Plum ICU Medical IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and unit-specific equipment such as bladder scanners, ultrasound dopplers, and feeding systems.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within the scope of practice.
• Orientation: Includes new employee orientation, patient experience and NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) class, nursing orientation, and unit orientation (day and night).
• Additional Details: Scrub color is Galaxy Blue. Free badge access parking is available. The assignment is scheduled to start on June 22, 2026.
