Position Summary

We are partnering with a nonprofit organization seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This individual will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll administration, and other accounting activities while helping ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including entering invoices and preparing payments.
• Support accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash posting, and collection follow-up.
• Maintain billing records and supporting documentation.
• Provide support for payroll processing and payroll-related recordkeeping.
• Assist with month-end close activities by preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Maintain organized financial records and accounting documentation.
• Support account reconciliations and perform data entry as needed.
• Assist with preparing documentation and schedules for the annual external audit.
• Create and maintain reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
• Provide general administrative and accounting support as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and general accounting principles.
• Experience with QuickBooks and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
