Job Overview
Prep Cooks at The Slice Pizza play a crucial role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by preparing fresh ingredients, maintaining organization, and supporting the cooking team throughout service. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, cleanliness, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients daily, including chopping, portioning, labeling, and storing
- Follow all recipes and prep lists to ensure consistency and proper portioning
- Maintain a clean, organized prep station and walk‑in throughout the shift
- Assist with dough preparation, sauce batching, and topping organization as needed
- Monitor ingredient levels and restock stations to support line cooks and pizza cooks
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature‑control procedures
- Support opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as assigned
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
