The successful candidate will lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans in the NYC metropolitan area. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has at least 2 years of experience and is ready to take on project leadership and staff training. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.Salary range starts at $70,000What you'll doComplete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater, and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schools/universities, transit-related), residential, industrial, commercial, and private.Complete Phase I Environmental Site AssessmentsParticipate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from preparation of workplans, conducting field work, writing summary reports, and final remedial documentsAssist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation;Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same.Prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data; interpreting and tabulating data and preparing tables; soil boring logs; figures; and textProvide environmental construction field management, such as community air monitoring, soil management, remedial construction oversight, and moreQualificationsBS in Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree, or Environmental Science, Geology or related science degree2+ years of environmental consulting experienceExperience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, including soil, sediment, soil vapor, air, and groundwater samplingProficiency in logging borings and describing soil lithology based on the Burmister soil classification systemWorking knowledge of NYSDEC Rules, Regulations and Guidance documents including DER-10, Part 360, and Part 375 RegulationsKnowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, and research and documentationMust possess a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and be willing to travel and conduct field work in all boroughs of NYC, Westchester, and Long IslandMust be able to wear a respiratorMust pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to DOT regulated random drug testingPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30-Hour construction training preferredOSHA 40-Hour Training and 8-hour refreshersExperience working effectively with team members as well as independentlyStrong quantitative/math and analytical skillsCore competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detailAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
