About the Position

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Dayshift with rotating weekends and rotating call Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ARRT, BLS Certification, Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) Must-Have: Experience in IV start and EKG. Description: Clienttion badge is required and must be provided by the agency. General certification requirements include BLS certification. ARRT or NMTCB certification is needed, along with state licensure. The department has 4 scanners/rooms. Travelers will not float or cover other areas. Common imaging/studies performed include cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung scans, and thyroid uptake. The average number of scans/studies performed daily is 12-15. The EMR system used is Meditech Expanse, and PACS is AGFA IMPAX. Department-specific equipment includes 2 Siemens E-cam and 2 Philips Brightview. There is a lead technologist overseeing operations. Registered Radiology Assistants are not utilized. Radiologists are available in-house. Starting IVs is a requirement for this position. Shifts are scheduled Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with no self-scheduling. Weekend requirements include being on call every 4th weekend, covering Friday evenings and full coverage on Saturdays and Sundays. No holiday requirements are currently in place. Call or standby is required one day a week when not scheduled for weekend call. Scrubs are not provided; black-colored scrubs without embroidery are required. No Crocs with holes or backless shoes are permitted. Department-specific orientation is provided. A cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment applies. Charting is conducted through the EPIC system.
