Principal Landscape Architect

We are seeking a senior designer and business leader responsible for a regional landscape architecture studio’s design vision, team leadership, client relationships, financial performance, and strategic growth . The role requires an ownership mindset and a strong track record in complex, design-driven work. Key Responsibilities: Set the studio’s design direction and maintain high standards for creativity, technical quality, sustainability, and execution. Lead complex, multi-million-dollar projects from concept through construction, particularly across commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, civic, multifamily, retail, and master-planned work. Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a high-performing design team and future leaders. Oversee project portfolios, staffing, budgets, schedules, profitability, utilization, and overall studio performance. Build and maintain key client relationships and lead proposals, pursuits, presentations, and business-development efforts. Identify new markets, clients, and growth opportunities while strengthening the studio’s reputation and visibility. Foster collaboration across offices, disciplines, and project teams. Represent the firm through industry organizations, conferences, community engagement, and thought leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. 13-15+ years of progressive landscape architecture experience. PLA Proven leadership of complex, multi-million-dollar projects from concept through construction. Strong commercial/mixed-use portfolio with experience across multiple project types.
