Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an obstetric patient population or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status; respond to changes, implementing and escalating care as needed.
- Administer medications and therapies as ordered; assist with procedures related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, ancillary teams, and other disciplines.
- Document care actions and patient responses in the electronic health record; maintain safety, infection control, and patient privacy throughout the shift.
- Provide education and support to patients and families; participate in discharge planning and coordination of follow-up care.

Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN)
- 1+ year of RN experience in Labor and Delivery or perinatal/obstetric care preferred
- Ability to work the 3x12 night rotation and participate in a travel assignment
