Financial Reporting Accountant II

Overview Modivcare is looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant II to join our team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Occasional business travel may be required. Responsibilities Financial Reporting – Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Generates accurate and comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Contributes to the preparation of footnotes, disclosures, and MD&A. Provides support to internal and external auditors as needed. Data Analysis – Compiles and analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Identifies and rectifies discrepancies or anomalies. Participates in variance analysis to understand trends. Compliance – Collaborates with the accounting team to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Assists in the preparation of documentation for audits and monitors changes in accounting standards that may impact reporting. Internal Collaboration – Partners with finance, treasury, and legal to gather financial data and support ad‑hoc reporting. Communicates effectively within the team and cross‑functionally to address reporting‑related queries. Process Improvement – Identifies opportunities for streamlining reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Contributes to the implementation of best practices in financial reporting. Software and Tools – Utilizes accounting software and tools to prepare financial reports and statements. Maintains proficiency in relevant applications and stays updated with industry trends. Professional Development – Stays informed about developments in accounting and financial reporting practices. Seeks learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge. Participates in other projects or duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Three or more years of relevant experience (Experience with Workiva preferred). Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving abilities. Statistical knowledge.
