CNC Machinist

CNC MachinistA CNC machinist operates and programs computer numerical control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision parts from metal or other materials. CNC machinist will develop for developing quality programs that run as efficiently as possible with the least amount of down time as possible. This employee's objective is to keep machines running as long as possible without attendance.Duties and Responsibilities:• Program effective and efficient tool paths• Ensures team is aware of any issues, whether it be for timing of program or machine run time• Pre-programming reviews• Create tooling requests for the tooling that is to be used on their machine• Make their own tooling (cutters, tool sets, etc.)• Setup work pieces (core, cavity, components, etc.)• Responsible for the quality of the products they are cutting• Meeting Shoptalk deadlines for jobs assigned to them• Record machine down time with PULSE• Maintain a clean and organized working area• Alert management of any possible issues with programming or machine "up-time"• Excellent attitude towards the company in which they are employed• Work in a professional manner and be mindful of other employees• Perform all other related duties as set out by managementEducation and Experience Requirements:Proficient in Solidworks softwareConduct OSHA, forklift, and Crane trainingsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPromote a team atmosphere within the department, where all activities are done in a consistent, cohesive manner and meet states deadlinesPhysical Requirements:Work required hours as per current workload
