Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse in an outpatient surgery setting. Nurses will be primarily assigned to the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and must be flexible with their schedule as start times can vary. The role requires the ability to stay and complete the day shift, specifically in the PACU. Weekend and holiday shifts are expected as part of the commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the outpatient surgery environment.
• Administer medications, including conscious sedation and reversal agents.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations.
• Implement discharge instructions and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Monitor patient progress and intervene appropriately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid California state nursing license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient or surgical setting.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.

Schedule

Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule from 06:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Flexibility is required as start times can vary between 06:00 AM and 08:30 AM.
