About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Allied Level 2 CT Tech Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Weekday Overnights Hours per Shift: 10.0 Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center License: NYS licensure required prior to starting position Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) required Must-Have: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Two (2) years of CT technologist experience Experience with Siemens scanner preferred Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan. Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; safe patient handling must be utilized. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the system. Ensure identifying images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must have a patient and compassionate disposition. Ability to work in a cohesive team environment is required.
