Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231 Work Hours Full Time/Mid (9a-9p); 36 hr/week; Variable Shifts Weekend and holiday requirements. Emergency Department Highlights Self-Scheduling that helps with work life balance Opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Fast‑paced, high‑volume department averaging 200 patients per day Requirements Registered Nurse diploma or Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. 1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required. 1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred. RN certification upon hire required. BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support before independent patient care and quarterly thereafter required. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required. PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required. CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training annually within 90 days required. TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months required or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse within 6 months required. High degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, ability to function in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Respond to patients’ safety, physical, psychological and social needs. Honor the worth of humans through unconditional acceptance, handling bodies with care, demonstrating patient rights and addressing patients by name. Understand others’ frame of reference and engage with family/caregivers, physicians, peers and other stakeholders.
