About the Role
As a Payroll & HR Assistant , you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting key HR functions. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, organization, and a strong sense of accountability.
What You'll Do
Payroll Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll by compiling, calculating, and entering data accurately
- Maintain payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax information
- Track leave, non-taxable wages, and earnings records
- Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
- Issue paychecks and resolve discrepancies
Human Resources Support
- Maintain and update employee records (personal data, benefits, compensation)
- Support recruiting and onboarding activities
- Ensure new hire paperwork is complete and compliant
- Track PTO and vacation accruals
- Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment
- Manage workers' compensation records and reporting
- Serve as a resource for employee HR-related questions
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of payroll and/or HR experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and functions required)
- Familiarity with payroll systems ( UKG/UltiPro preferred )
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Experience working in a fast-paced or manufacturing environment is a plus
Language Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional HR/payroll training or experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
