Registered Respiratory Therapist

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a fast‑paced acute care team on the night shift. The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, including assessment, treatment, ventilator management, airway support, and patient education. This role requires strong critical‑thinking skills, adaptability, and the ability to deliver high‑quality patient‑centered care while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities Provide respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic evaluations under physician direction. Assess, monitor, and manage patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Perform ventilator setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and management. Assist with airway management procedures, including intubation support. Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results to support patient care. Educate patients and caregivers regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans. Document patient assessments, treatments, responses, and education accurately and timely. Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed. Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required. Active and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License required. Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification required. Current AHA BLS Certification required. Current ACLS Certification required. Current PALS Certification required. Minimum one (1) year of recent Respiratory Therapy experience required. Three (3) years of Respiratory Therapy experience preferred. Experience in mechanical ventilation management required. Experience with airway management and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis required. Acute care and critical care experience preferred.
