Position Details University of Colorado Denver | Denver Faculty Level/Title: Lecturer Working Title: Lecturer in Landscape Architecture FTE: 0.225 per 3-credit course or 0.45 per 6-credit course (Part‑time) Salary Range: $5,860 for a 3-credit hour course; $8,680 for a 6-credit hour course Position #: 00642344 – Requisition #: 40266 Job Description This posting establishes a pool of candidates who can teach one studio or technical seminar per semester in Landscape Architecture on an as needed basis. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through August 2026, at which point all applications will be cleared from the pool. Applicants will be welcome to apply to future pools after that date. What you will do The Department of Landscape Architecture in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver will select Lecturers from this pool to teach in the College's graduate program. Classes taught may range from three to six credit hours and may include lectures, seminars, and studios in all teaching modes (in‑person, hybrid, online, remote). Qualifications – Minimum A master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field, or a terminal degree and expertise in the course content. Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, a record of professional practice in landscape architecture, and a professional degree in a related field. Applicants for courses addressing specific subjects are also given consideration based on the course needs; in this case, they must have an advanced degree or proven expertise in the topic. Applicants should have substantive knowledge of the landscape architecture field and/or the subject matter that they will be teaching. Individuals with multidisciplinary education and expertise are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively across various modalities. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in a collegial academic environment. Ability to develop a clear syllabus outlining learning outcomes, policies, and assessments for the class. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to different course formats (in‑person, online, hybrid) and student needs. Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue across diverse perspectives. Ability to incorporate inclusive and equitable teaching practices that support student success. A commitment to inclusive excellence, including supporting students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Conditions of Employment The position may involve in‑person or hybrid work depending on the specific course(s) being taught. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration. Physical Requirements Position may be performed on site and will require the ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers. Position may also be performed in a hybrid or remote environment, requiring the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. This includes maintaining a dedicated workspace free of excessive noise or distractions, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings for extended periods. Employees must be able to independently manage time, remain stationary for prolonged computer‑based work, and transport necessary equipment between their remote work location and the office as needed.
